PARACHEM CONSULTING CHEMISTS
Hazardous Chemical Management
COSHH

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH) require that a risk assessment is made of working practices to identify the risks to health associated with the use of hazardous chemicals and other substances.

The risk assessment includes consideration of;

Chemical Hazard Class
Risk Phrase Numbers
Occupational Exposure Limits
Exposure Routes
Air Sampling Results
Local Exhaust Ventilation Testing
Duration and Frequency of Exposure
Control Measures
Personal Protective Equipment
Respiratory Protective Equipment

The purpose of the assessment is to enable employers to provide employees with adequate protection against exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace. The assessment must be judged "suitable and sufficient" by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).

ParaChem offers a complete assessment service, which we guarantee to be suitable and sufficient. We are trained by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) to perform COSHH assessments and carry out air-sampling of hazardous substances. We have carried out hundreds of assessments and our work is regularly inspected by the HSE. We also offer a maintenance programme, in which we review the assessment at periodic intervals to ensure its ongoing validity.

We also offer assistance in specific activities that can form part of your in-house assessment, such as "stand-alone" air sampling or LEV testing.
